For 3 days and 2 nights you will sleep on the boat. Departure from Labuan Bajo is usually in the morning, around 10-11 am. And for 3 days you will visit a string of destinations that are easy on the eyes.

Joining an open trip means you share the boat with other travellers from different regions or countries. The price is per person, and the concept works like a hotel—what you enjoy is your cabin and the activities. An open trip is the better option compared to chartering a boat yourself.

Open trips suit solo travellers, couples, or small groups who enjoy meeting new people. If you would rather charter a boat for your own group, skip straight to the boat charter section below.

Below is the full list of 3D2N open trip boats we have compiled. Price per person, sorted from cheapest.

Here are all the boats offering a 3D2N Komodo sailing package, starting from the cheapest price range. You can filter by class, price, number/type of cabin, and capacity. Click the boat name to see cabin photos.

What do you get for that price?

The sailing route is mostly the same on every boat. What usually drives the price difference is the facilities the boat offers.

Cabin: Almost every boat has cabin types across different classes, from superior, deluxe, to master. And each boat has a different number of cabins too—some have 10 cabins (Leticia), some have 11 (Budi Utama). The price in the table is the lowest cabin type on each boat.

Bathroom: This is the facility that most often causes miscommunication between provider and customer. A cheap price does not always mean the bathroom is outside. Segara's sharing cabin, for example, Rp 2.750.000 per person, sleeps four and has its bathroom inside. And in the Rp 3.500.000 to Rp 4.500.000 range there are plenty of private cabins with an ensuite bathroom too.

All prices in this list are the latest data, updated every week.

Same route, different boat

The standard 3D2N route: Kelor, Manjarite, Kalong in the late afternoon for the flying foxes, Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island with a ranger, Taka Makassar, and Manta Point.

The order of destinations usually follows the tides and weather, and that is entirely the captain's call. Under normal conditions the order above holds, but in practice the captain may change the visiting sequence—without cutting anything. Everything is still visited, except under certain conditions.

The day-by-day plan is on each boat's page.

How do you pick the right boat?

Solo traveller / Budget traveller: In the table, you can filter and look for a sharing cabin. Segara is the best fit, because for Rp 2.750.000 per person you get a room with an ensuite bathroom.

Couple traveller: Look for a double cabin with an ensuite bathroom. Many boats have one in the Rp 3.500.000 to Rp 4.500.000 per person range. Some boats also have a double cabin with the bathroom outside, usually cheaper, like Segara.

Family: Filter by cabin type and look for a triple or family cabin. Each boat usually offers a more affordable child price, please confirm with our admin.

Groups above 4 people: Look for a boat with a sharing bunk bed cabin, usually for 4-5 people. You can also look for a boat with a large number of rooms, like Leticia and Budi Utama.

So, is an open trip or a private charter better?

It all depends on your holiday goal, and of course your budget. In short:

  • Open trip: you pay per person and join a group of other travellers. The catch: dates and schedule are not flexible.
  • Boat charter: you pay for 1 boat exclusively for your own group, usually always more expensive, but the route and schedule are very flexible—you can change and pick them as you like. For dates, it still depends on availability!

Please contact our admin with your holiday preferences.

Not necessarily. Segara's sharing cabin at Rp 2.750.000 still has its bathroom inside. Check each cabin on the boat page.

What does the Luxury or Deluxe label mean?

A boat class widely used by operators. What usually separates superior, deluxe and luxury is the size of the boat (width x length, which relates to stability at sea). Facilities also usually set the classes apart, along with interior quality and so on.

What is the maximum capacity of one boat?

It varies by boat class. Superior usually maxes out at 14-20 people (yes, a lot, because they need volume to keep the price low). Deluxe and luxury usually run 8-12 people. Fewer people, and the price usually tends to be higher.
