About this trip

Diara La Oceano is a superior-class wooden phinisi based in Labuan Bajo. The trip is 3 days and 2 nights around Komodo National Park, sleeping on board. Prices start at IDR 3,250,000 per person.

What sets Diara La Oceano apart: it is a small boat and every cabin has its own bathroom. There are only 5 cabins for 12 guests. Even the cheapest Sharing cabin has its own bathroom inside, so nobody queues for an outside bathroom at night.

What are the cabins like?

There are 2 cabin types. The route is the same; only the cabin differs.

Deluxe Room Ocean View, IDR 4,250,000 per person. There are 4: 3 on the main deck and 1 on the upper deck. The main-deck cabins have wooden walls and a row of sea-facing windows; the upper-deck cabin has white walls and is brighter. All have a double bed for 2, air conditioning and an en-suite bathroom.

Sharing Room Ocean View, IDR 3,250,000 per person. Just 1 cabin on the main deck with double-size bunks for 4 guests, air conditioning and an en-suite bathroom.

Who is it right for?

Two of you? Take a Deluxe: a double bed, en-suite bathroom and windows straight onto the sea.

Travelling alone? The Sharing cabin is the answer. You pay per person and share the cabin with other guests, so you do not need to find a travel partner first.

Four of you on a budget? One Sharing cabin fits 4 at IDR 3,250,000 per person, IDR 1,000,000 less per person than Deluxe. That is IDR 13,000,000 in total, IDR 4,000,000 less than two Deluxe cabins.

What is the boat like?

Diara La Oceano is a white-hulled wooden phinisi with a masted bow. There is a covered dining area on deck with a long wooden table and sofas facing the sea, and an open bow deck in front of the wheelhouse for watching the sunset.

Where does it go?

Day one takes in Kelor Island, Manjarite and Kalong Island at dusk. Day two is sunrise on Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Manta Point and Taka Makassar. Day three has one last stop before returning to Labuan Bajo. The order can shift with the weather and current, and the captain decides.

Can I charter the whole boat?

Yes. Diara La Oceano also runs private charters for groups of 12 or fewer. The exact price depends on the length and dates, so our team sends it on WhatsApp once your dates and numbers are set.

How do I book?

Diara La Oceano dates are not in the calendar on this page yet, which does not mean the boat is full. Send the date you want on WhatsApp, we check with the operator and tell you which cabins are still open. The Komodo National Park ticket is not included and you can add it at checkout.
