About this trip
Elyona is a 28-metre deluxe-class wooden phinisi, newly built in 2026, with 5 cabins for 14 guests.
What makes Elyona good for an open trip: all five cabins have a private bathroom, including the two Shared Cabins sold by the bed. You can join on your own, pay for one bed, and still never queue for a shared bathroom.
What is the boat like?
A wooden phinisi, 28 metres long and 5 metres wide, with a Mitsubishi 6D15 engine cruising at 7 to 10 knots and a 5,000 litre fresh water tank. There are 6 crew. A 5 metre dinghy with a Yamaha 40 HP engine takes you to the beaches. Navigation is a Garmin 585 GPS and a compass, with SSB and VHF radio. Safety gear is life jackets, a liferaft, lifebuoys, fire extinguishers, emergency signals and a first-aid kit.
Outside the cabins there is a sundeck with bean bags, an outdoor lounge area, an indoor dining room, a TV and karaoke, and paddle boards.
Who is it right for?
If you travel solo or with a friend, the Shared Cabin has 4 single beds in bunks, with a private bathroom.
For couples, the Deluxe Cabins on the upper deck have a double bed. Want your own balcony? The Master Balcony Cabin takes an extra bed for a third person.
What are the cabins like?
Master Balcony Cabin (1 cabin), upper deck, double bed, sea windows and a private balcony. It takes 1 extra bed, so three people pay for the cabin. Deluxe Cabin 1 and 2, upper deck, double bed with sea windows. Shared Cabin 1 and 2, main deck, 4 single beds in bunks, sold by the bed. Every cabin is air-conditioned with a private bathroom.
What about meals and facilities?
Included: airport or hotel transfers, a welcome drink, breakfast, lunch and dinner, an afternoon snack and juice, drinking water, tea and coffee, snorkelling gear, island and beach visits, a local guide and trip photos.
Not included: flights, hotels before and after the trip, personal spending, alcoholic drinks, guide and crew tips, and the Komodo National Park entry ticket, IDR 350,000 for Indonesian citizens and IDR 650,000 for foreign visitors per person.
Where does the route go?
Day one goes to Kelor Island, snorkels at Manjarite, then spends the evening at Kalong Island waiting for thousands of flying foxes at sunset. Day two is the full one: sunrise on Padar Island, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Day three snorkels at Sebayur or Siaba, then heads back to Labuan Bajo. The order of stops can change with the weather, and the captain makes that call.

Day 15 stops
- 09:30-10:30 - Board at Labuan Bajo harbour, meet the crew and settle into your cabin.
- Kelor Island - An easy trek up the ridge. Short but steep, and the cluster of islands opens up from the top.
- Manjarite - A relaxed snorkel in clear water over shallow reef and reef fish.
- Kalong Island - We anchor in the late afternoon and wait for thousands of flying foxes to leave the mangroves as the sun drops.
- Overnight on board.

Day 26 stops
- Padar Island - We leave in the dark to catch sunrise. The climb is real, and what waits at the top is the three-bay view Komodo is known for.
- Pink Beach - The sand is pink from broken coral. You can swim and snorkel straight off the beach.
- Komodo Island - A trek with a national park ranger to see the dragons in their own habitat. The ranger sets the route and the distance.
- Manta Point - A swim looking for manta rays. It depends on the current and the sea that day.
- Taka Makassar - A sandbar that surfaces at low tide, good for photos and a snorkel along its edge.
- Overnight on board.

Day 33 stops
- Sebayur or Siaba Island - A last snorkel in clear water.
- 11:30-12:00 - Back alongside at Labuan Bajo harbour.
- That leaves room for an afternoon flight, but do not book one too tight.
