About this trip
Ocean Angel is a 38 metre aluminium motor vessel sailing out of Labuan Bajo. The open trip runs 3 days and 2 nights through Komodo National Park, you sleep on board and you pay per person. Prices start at IDR 6,350,000 per person.
What sets Ocean Angel apart is its size. There are 16 cabins, and every one of them has air conditioning and its own bathroom. No budget cabin shares a toilet down the corridor. There is an open-air jacuzzi on the bow, a shaded sundeck up top and a glass-walled dining room. If you are used to 6-cabin wooden phinisi boats, this feels more like a small hotel that happens to sail.
What is the boat like?
It is 38 metres long and 7.5 metres wide. The hull is aluminium rather than timber, and there are no masts or sails. The engine is a Mitsubishi 8DC9, cruising at 8 to 11 knots. The bridge carries radar, GPS, AIS and an echo sounder. The fresh water tank holds 50 tonnes, so a proper shower after every snorkel is never a problem.
The decks are stacked. Up front there is the jacuzzi with artificial grass and sun loungers. At the back there is an open deck with a ladder down to the water and a small tender for beach landings. Inside there is an air-conditioned dining room with wide windows, long tables and a TV. The cabin corridor is clean and lined with numbered wooden doors.
Who is it right for?
If you are a couple who wants a comfortable Komodo trip without chartering a whole boat, Ocean Angel fits. Even the cheapest cabin has air conditioning and a private bathroom.
If you enjoy a lively crowd, this is your boat. One departure can carry dozens of guests, so dinner on board feels like eating with one big travelling group.
If you want a small, quiet boat, a wooden phinisi with only a few cabins will suit you better. The catalogue has plenty, just ask on WhatsApp.
If you are travelling alone, you can still join. The cabins are doubles, so message us before you pay and we will look for a date with a cabin mate.
What are the cabins like?
This page sells 3 cabin types per person. All three have a double bed for 2 guests, air conditioning and a private bathroom with a shower. The route is the same, only the cabin changes.
Superior Seaview, IDR 6,350,000 per person. This is the most common cabin on board. There is a mirrored vanity and a row of square windows facing the sea. The bathroom has a window too. It is the budget pick, and the basics are the same as the cabins above it.
VIP Seaview, IDR 6,850,000 per person. Roomier than the Superior, with a row of windows along the side and a long vanity. The bathroom has a large sea-facing window. An extra bed can be added if there are three of you.
VIP Fullocean, IDR 7,100,000 per person. The cabin with the widest glass on the boat. Panoramic windows run across the front and both sides of the bed, so you see the sea straight from the mattress. The IDR 750,000 over the Superior buys you waking up to the islands without getting out of bed.
Travelling with children? Ocean Angel also has a Family Cabin with one double bed and two single beds. It cannot be booked directly on this page yet, so ask us on WhatsApp first.
What about meals and facilities?
All meals and snacks during the trip are included, cooked in the galley and served as a buffet in the dining room. Coffee, tea and drinking water are free flow.
What you can use at no extra cost: the bow jacuzzi, the sundeck, snorkelling gear, karaoke, a sound system and a TV. A local guide comes along for the whole trip, and there is a life jacket for every guest. Boat clearance is included too.
Not included: flights, travel insurance, alcohol, personal spending, crew tips and the ranger fee paid on site. The Komodo National Park entry fee is IDR 350,000 for Indonesian citizens and IDR 650,000 for foreign visitors per person, and you can pay it at checkout.
Where does the route go?
Day one boards at KP3 Harbour in Labuan Bajo between 10:00 and 11:00. Then a short hike on Kelor Island, snorkelling at Manjarite, and an evening at Kalong Island waiting for thousands of flying foxes to leave the mangroves at sunset.
Day two leaves in the dark for sunrise on Padar and the view over three bays. Then Pink Beach, a ranger-led trek to see the dragons on Komodo Island, a swim with manta rays at Manta Point if the current allows, and the Taka Makassar sandbank.
Day three is a last snorkel at Kanawa or Siaba before sailing back, docking in Labuan Bajo around 11:00. That still works for an afternoon flight, as long as you do not book one that is too tight. The order of stops can shift with the weather and currents, and that is the captain's call.
Can I charter the whole boat?
Yes. Ocean Angel also runs private charters of 2 days 1 night, 3 days 2 nights or 4 days 3 nights. The price is per group, set by group size bands: 1 to 10, 11 to 20 and 21 to 30 guests. For companies, extended families or groups of 20 and up, a charter often makes more sense than buying cabins one by one. Send your dates and group size on WhatsApp and our team will send the exact price.
How do I book?
Pick a date and a cabin on this page, then pay with the booking button. Your cabin is locked once the full payment goes through, and nothing is billed afterwards. If your date is full, our team will help you find a comparable boat.

Day 15 stops
- 10:00-11:00 - Board at KP3 Harbour in Labuan Bajo, meet the crew and settle into your cabin.
- Kelor Island - An easy trek up the ridge. Short but steep, and the cluster of islands opens up from the top.
- Manjarite - A relaxed snorkel in clear water over shallow reef and reef fish.
- Kalong Island - We anchor in the late afternoon and wait for thousands of flying foxes to leave the mangroves as the sun drops.
- Overnight on board.

Day 26 stops
- Padar Island - We leave in the dark to catch sunrise. The climb is real, and what waits at the top is the three-bay view Komodo is known for.
- Pink Beach - The sand is pink from broken coral. You can swim and snorkel straight off the beach.
- Komodo Island - A trek with a national park ranger to see the dragons in their own habitat. The ranger sets the route and the distance.
- Manta Point - A swim looking for manta rays. It depends on the current and the sea that day.
- Taka Makassar - A sandbar that surfaces at low tide, good for photos and a snorkel along its edge.
- Overnight on board.

Day 33 stops
- Kanawa or Siaba Island - A last snorkel in clear water. Turtles pass through Siaba often.
- Around 11:00 - Back alongside at KP3 Harbour in Labuan Bajo.
- That leaves room for an afternoon flight, but do not book one too tight.
