What sets Vhalé apart is how wide its price range is for one boat. A bed in a shared cabin is IDR 4,450,000 and a balcony cabin is IDR 8,950,000. Solo travellers and groups who want the best cabin ride the same boat, eat at the same table and follow the same route.
What is the boat like?
The hull is white with a yellow stripe, the superstructure is timber, and there is no sailing mast. It is a wooden motor boat rather than a phinisi, so the decks are roomy. There are 12 cabins over three levels.
What are the cabins like?
There are two Atlantic cabins on the upper deck, each for 4 guests. They have a queen bed, a sofa and long sea-facing windows, with a covered private balcony and a lounger out front. IDR 8,950,000 per person.
There are two Oceanic cabins on the middle deck, each for 3 guests, with a queen bed and an armchair. IDR 7,450,000 per person.
There are two Pacific cabins on the middle deck, each for 2 guests, with a double bed and two windows. IDR 6,200,000 per person, IDR 1,250,000 less than Oceanic.
There are two Azure cabins on the upper deck, each for 3 guests. The bathroom is outside and shared, which is why they are IDR 5,200,000 per person.
There are four Coral cabins on the lower deck, each for 3 guests on bunks. They are sold private at IDR 5,700,000 per person, or shared at IDR 4,450,000 per bed. Ask our team on WhatsApp which Coral cabins are still open on your date.
Who is it right for?
Travelling alone? Take a shared Coral bed. You pay IDR 4,450,000 for one bed and share the cabin with other guests, the cheapest way onto this boat.
A couple? Pacific at IDR 6,200,000 per person gives you a double bed. For more space and an armchair, Oceanic is IDR 7,450,000.
For a honeymoon or birthday, Atlantic is the answer. It is the only cabin with a private balcony, and it sleeps up to 4 if you travel as a family.
What about food and facilities?
There are two places to eat: an open dining deck with a long table and curved sofas facing the sea, and a wood-panelled indoor dining room. The bow has a sundeck with blue-and-white striped mattresses for lying out while the boat is moving, and there is a deck lounge with blue sofas facing Labuan Bajo.
Where does it go?
Day one takes in Kelor Island, Manjarite and the bat sunset at Kalong Island. Day two is sunrise on Padar, Pink Beach, the dragons, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Day three has one last stop before returning to Labuan Bajo. The order can shift with the weather and the captain decides.
Can I charter the whole boat?
Yes. Vhalé is also available as a private charter. Charter is priced per boat and depends on the length and group size, so we send the figure on WhatsApp once your dates and numbers are set.
How do I book?
Vhalé dates are not in the calendar on this page yet, which does not mean the boat is full. Send the date you want on WhatsApp, we check with the operator and tell you which cabins are still open. The Komodo National Park ticket is not included and you can add it at checkout.

The priciest cabin, on the upper deck. Queen bed, a white armchair, a long row of sea-facing windows and a private bathroom. In front is a covered private balcony with a daybed, the only one on board.
Main deck · 3 pax2× Oceanic
On the main deck. Queen bed, a blue velvet chair, a bedside table, side windows and a private bathroom. Roomier than Pacific.
Main deck · 2 pax2× Pacific
On the main deck. Double bed, two windows, white and timber walls and a private bathroom. The cheapest cabin for two with its own bathroom.
Lower deck · 3 pax4× Coral
On the lower deck. Bunk beds with a wooden ladder, full timber walls and a private bathroom. One cabin just for your group.
Upper deck · 3 pax2× Azure
On the upper deck. Double bed, timber walls with white decorative panels and side windows. The bathroom is outside the cabin and shared, which is why it costs less than Coral.
Lower deck · 3 pax4× Coral Sharing
A lower deck Coral cabin sold by the bed. You share the cabin with other guests, which suits solo travellers. Bunk beds, air conditioning and a bathroom inside the cabin.

Day 1
Board the boat at Labuan Bajo Harbor. Sail to Kelor Island for a viewpoint hike. Snorkel at Manjarite. Flying-fox sunset at Kalong Island. Overnight on board.
Day 2
Sunrise hike on Padar Island (panorama of 3 bays). Pink Beach for swimming and snorkeling. Ranger-led Komodo dragon trek on Komodo Island. Snorkel Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Overnight on board.
Day 3
A last snorkel at Kanawa or Siaba, where turtles pass regularly. Sail back to Labuan Bajo, arriving at the harbour 11:00-12:00.

Day 15 stops
- 10:00-11:00 - Board at KP3 Harbour in Labuan Bajo, meet the crew and settle into your cabin.
- Kelor Island - An easy trek up the ridge. Short but steep, and the cluster of islands opens up from the top.
- Manjarite - A relaxed snorkel in clear water over shallow reef and reef fish.
- Kalong Island - We anchor in the late afternoon and wait for thousands of flying foxes to leave the mangroves as the sun drops.
- Overnight on board.
Day 26 stops
- Padar Island - We leave in the dark to catch sunrise. The climb is real, and what waits at the top is the three-bay view Komodo is known for.
- Pink Beach - The sand is pink from broken coral. You can swim and snorkel straight off the beach.
- Komodo Island - A trek with a national park ranger to see the dragons in their own habitat. The ranger sets the route and the distance.
- Manta Point - A swim looking for manta rays. It depends on the current and the sea that day.
- Taka Makassar - A sandbar that surfaces at low tide, good for photos and a snorkel along its edge.
- Overnight on board.
Day 33 stops
- Kanawa or Siaba Island - A last snorkel in clear water. Turtles pass through Siaba often.
- Around 11:00 - Back alongside at KP3 Harbour in Labuan Bajo.
- That leaves room for an afternoon flight, but do not book one too tight.
