About this trip
Elrora is a luxury-class wooden phinisi that sails from Labuan Bajo on 3 day, 2 night open trips through Komodo National Park. Prices start at IDR 6,500,000 per person.
The boat has 6 cabins for 14 guests, up to 16 with extra beds. Every cabin has air conditioning and its own bathroom, so you never queue for a bathroom with another cabin.
What are the cabins like?
The Master Cabin is on the main deck, for two, at IDR 11,500,000 per person. It is the only cabin with its own balcony and a jacuzzi facing the sea.
There are two Panoramic Ocean View Cabins on the upper deck, for two with room for an extra bed, at IDR 9,750,000 per person. They have wide windows and a small balcony with a rattan chair.
There are two Superior Cabins on the lower deck, for two, at IDR 7,500,000 per person, with round portholes in the hull.
The Family Cabin sleeps 4 at IDR 6,500,000 per person. One large bed sits between two singles, and it is the lowest price per person on board.
Who is it for?
Couples marking a special trip tend to take the Master Cabin for the balcony and jacuzzi. A group of four pays least in the Family Cabin. If you are two and want the view without the Master price, take a Panoramic Ocean View Cabin.
One thing to know: an Elrora open trip sails once at least 3 cabins are booked. In July and August Elrora runs open trips only.
What is the boat like?
A wooden phinisi hull with two sailing masts. There is an indoor dining room panelled in wood with windows to the sea, a dining table on the open deck, and a sundeck with lounging cushions at the bow. The boat carries a dinghy, or tender boat, to take you ashore, and life jackets are on board for every guest.
Where does it go?
Day one you board in Labuan Bajo, take a short trek on Kelor Island, snorkel at Manjarite, and spend the late afternoon at Kalong Island waiting for thousands of flying foxes to leave the mangroves. You sleep on board.
Day two starts on Padar Island, then Pink Beach, a ranger-led walk to see the dragons on Komodo Island, then Taka Makassar and Manta Point.
Day three is a last snorkel at Kanawa Island before you sail back to Labuan Bajo around midday. The order can change with weather and currents, and the crew makes that call on the day.
What about meals and what is included?
7 meals while sailing, afternoon snacks, tea, coffee and free-flow mineral water are included. So are snorkelling gear, life jackets, a licensed HPI local guide, photos and video by drone, GoPro and DSLR, the dinghy, and 2 airport or hotel transfers.
Not included: return flights, hotels before and after the trip, the Komodo National Park entrance fee, personal spending and crew tips. You can add the national park ticket at checkout.

The lowest per-person price on board, because the room is split four ways: one double bed flanked by two singles in a single space. The ceiling follows the curve of the hull and the only window is a small porthole. Right for a family, or four people who actually want to share.
Lower deck · 2 pax2× Superior Cabin
IDR 1,000,000 above Family, and what you buy is having the room to just the two of you. A double bed, a long cushioned bench opposite it, and two portholes above that bench. There are two cabins of this type at the same price.
Upper deck · 2 pax · +1 extra bed2× Panoramic Ocean View Cabin
IDR 2,250,000 above Superior, and a door is the difference: a sliding glass door opens onto a small balcony with two rattan chairs and a round table, the sea right past the rail. The headboard is padded and upholstered. There are two cabins of this type at the same price.
Main deck · 2 paxMaster Cabin
The largest and priciest cabin, and the jacuzzi is what puts it in another class: a tub on its own deck facing the sea, one glass door away from the bed. Inside there is a cushioned window bench in front of three windows, so there is somewhere to sit that is not the bed. There is only one of it on this boat.

Day 1
Board the phinisi at Labuan Bajo Harbor 10:00-11:00. Sail to Kelor Island for a viewpoint hike. Snorkel at Manjarite. Flying-fox sunset at Kalong Island. Overnight on board.
Day 2
Sunrise hike on Padar Island (panorama of 3 bays). Pink Beach for swimming and snorkeling. Ranger-led Komodo dragon trek on Komodo Island. Snorkel the Taka Makassar sandbank. Snorkel at Manta Point. Overnight on board.
Day 3
A last snorkel at Kanawa or Siaba, where turtles pass regularly. Sail back to Labuan Bajo, arriving at the harbour 11:00-12:00.

Day 15 stops
- 10:00-11:00 - Board at KP3 Harbour in Labuan Bajo, meet the crew and settle into your cabin.
- Kelor Island - An easy trek up the ridge. Short but steep, and the cluster of islands opens up from the top.
- Manjarite - A relaxed snorkel in clear water over shallow reef and reef fish.
- Kalong Island - We anchor in the late afternoon and wait for thousands of flying foxes to leave the mangroves as the sun drops.
- Overnight on board.
Day 26 stops
- Padar Island - We leave in the dark to catch sunrise. The climb is real, and what waits at the top is the three-bay view Komodo is known for.
- Pink Beach - The sand is pink from broken coral. You can swim and snorkel straight off the beach.
- Komodo Island - A trek with a national park ranger to see the dragons in their own habitat. The ranger sets the route and the distance.
- Manta Point - A swim looking for manta rays. It depends on the current and the sea that day.
- Taka Makassar - A sandbar that surfaces at low tide, good for photos and a snorkel along its edge.
- Overnight on board.
Day 33 stops
- Kanawa or Siaba Island - A last snorkel in clear water. Turtles pass through Siaba often.
- Around 11:00 - Back alongside at KP3 Harbour in Labuan Bajo.
- That leaves room for an afternoon flight, but do not book one too tight.
