About this trip
Akassa Cruise is a deluxe wooden phinisi with a white hull and white sails. It sails from Labuan Bajo on a 3 day, 2 night trip around Komodo National Park. Prices start at IDR 9,500,000 per person.
There are only 3 suites on board, for a maximum of 10 guests. You will not be fighting for a spot on the sundeck, and the crew knows your name by the first evening. In a bay full of wood-toned phinisi, Akassa is easy to spot because it is painted white from bow to stern.
The three suites are named after nature: Laut (sea), Langit (sky) and Bumi (earth). Prices step up from IDR 9,500,000 to IDR 12,500,000 per person. What you pay for is not just floor space but what sits outside your door: a private balcony, a bathtub facing the sea, or a plain sea-view window.
What is the boat like?
Akassa was built in 2021. It is 25 metres long and 4.5 metres wide, powered by a Mitsubishi 6D16 engine, and cruises at 7 to 8 knots. Navigation runs on a Garmin GPSMAP 585, with SSB and VHF radio on board. The fresh water tank holds 5,000 litres, so a hot shower every evening is not a problem. A 5 metre dinghy with a 40 HP Yamaha outboard takes you to the beaches.
Safety gear covers life jackets, a life raft, ring buoys, fire extinguishers, distress signals and a first aid kit.
Who is it right for?
Couples looking for a quiet trip are the best fit. With 10 guests on one boat, the sundeck and lounge never feel crowded.
Small families work well too. Laut and Langit each sleep up to 4 people with two extra beds, so two parents and two kids can share one suite. The third and fourth person in those suites cost IDR 5,000,000 each.
If you are travelling as two and want to spend less, pick Bumi. It is IDR 3,000,000 per person less than Laut, and you still get a private bathroom and air conditioning.
What are the cabins like?
Laut Legendary Suite sits on the middle deck. The double bed faces glass doors that open onto a private balcony with two chairs and a small table. The bathroom is inside the suite and has a corner jacuzzi. It costs IDR 12,500,000 per person.
Langit VIP Suite is on the upper deck, with windows on three sides. Its white bathtub stands out on the private balcony, so you can soak while the other boats drift past. The bathroom is inside. It costs IDR 11,500,000 per person.
Bumi Deluxe Suite is also on the upper deck. Full timber walls, a double bed and a sea-facing window. The bathroom is inside, with a shower. It is more compact than the other two and sleeps 2. It costs IDR 9,500,000 per person.
Every suite has air conditioning and a private bathroom with hot water. If a balcony and a bathtub are what you want, take Langit. If you are after a jacuzzi, Laut is the only one.
What about food and facilities?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are cooked by the chef on board, and seafood shows up a lot. Snacks, coffee, tea and drinking water are free all trip. The dining room has timber walls and windows onto the sea.
To relax there is a covered lounge with sofas facing the water, a sundeck with loungers and bean bags, and karaoke. Snorkelling gear, stand up paddle boards and floaties are included. A guide stays with you the whole trip and shoots photos and video with a camera, GoPro and drone.
Hotel or airport pick-up in Labuan Bajo is included, and so is the Kanawa Island entrance fee. Not included: flights, alcohol, personal spending and tips for the crew.
The Komodo National Park ticket is not included either. It is IDR 350,000 for Indonesian citizens and IDR 650,000 for foreign visitors per person, and you can add it at checkout.
When does it depart?
The Akassa open trip runs from March to December, twice a week: Monday to Wednesday, and Friday to Sunday. You board at 10 in the morning, and on day three you are back in Labuan Bajo around 11 to 12 noon, early enough for an afternoon flight.
Can I charter the whole boat?
Yes. Akassa also runs private charters of 2 to 4 days, with a route shaped around your group. It suits big families, company trips or a honeymoon on a boat of your own. Charter prices are per boat and depend on the length of the trip, the number of guests and the month. For a group of 8 to 10, a charter often makes more sense than buying three suites one by one.
How do I book?
Pick a date and a suite on this page, then pay with the booking button. If your dates are not fixed yet, talk to our team first. If Akassa is full on your dates, we will find you a comparable boat.

Day 15 stops
- 10:00-11:00 - Board at KP3 Harbour in Labuan Bajo, meet the crew and settle into your cabin.
- Kelor Island - An easy trek up the ridge. Short but steep, and the cluster of islands opens up from the top.
- Manjarite - A relaxed snorkel in clear water over shallow reef and reef fish.
- Kalong Island - We anchor in the late afternoon and wait for thousands of flying foxes to leave the mangroves as the sun drops.
- Overnight on board.

Day 26 stops
- Padar Island - We leave in the dark to catch sunrise. The climb is real, and what waits at the top is the three-bay view Komodo is known for.
- Pink Beach - The sand is pink from broken coral. You can swim and snorkel straight off the beach.
- Komodo Island - A trek with a national park ranger to see the dragons in their own habitat. The ranger sets the route and the distance.
- Manta Point - A swim looking for manta rays. It depends on the current and the sea that day.
- Taka Makassar - A sandbar that surfaces at low tide, good for photos and a snorkel along its edge.
- Overnight on board.

Day 33 stops
- Kanawa or Siaba Island - A last snorkel in clear water. Turtles pass through Siaba often.
- Around 11:00 - Back alongside at KP3 Harbour in Labuan Bajo.
- That leaves room for an afternoon flight, but do not book one too tight.
