About this trip

Ladyana is a 25 metre wooden semi-phinisi running 3 day 2 night Komodo open trips from Labuan Bajo. There are only 4 cabins, so a single trip carries at most 14 guests. Prices per person start at IDR 3,550,000 and top out at IDR 4,850,000. The route is the same for everyone, only the cabin changes.

What sets Ladyana apart from boats in its class is the top deck. The sundeck is laid with artificial grass and bean bags and opens toward the mast, so in the late afternoon you can lie back and watch the sun go down over Kalong Island. Below it sits a covered dining area with long wooden benches and a karaoke set. Small, relaxed, and easy to get to know the other guests.

What is the boat like?

A wooden semi-phinisi, 25 metres long and 4.3 metres wide. It runs on a Mitsubishi 6D15 engine at 7 to 10 knots. Power comes from two generators, 10 KVA and 7 KVA, so cabin air conditioning keeps running at anchor. The fresh water tank holds 4,000 litres. On board are 20 life jackets, 2 ring buoys, 3 fire extinguishers, a first aid kit, a Garmin GPS, a compass, a radio and walkie talkies. Canoes and snorkelling gear are on board too.

Who is it right for?

If you are travelling solo or as a pair on a budget, Ladyana makes a lot of sense. The two shared cabins are sold per person, so you can book a single bed without bringing a friend. Couples should take a private cabin to get their own door. For a small group of 10 to 14, chartering the whole boat often makes more sense than joining the open trip, because the entire deck is yours.

What are the cabins like?

Master Cabin, IDR 4,850,000 per person. A private cabin with one large raised bed reached by a small wooden ladder, a window, and a door that opens straight onto the outside walkway. Private bathroom. Deluxe Cabin, IDR 4,500,000 per person. A private cabin with a large raised bed, air conditioning above a long window with white curtains, and a private bathroom. Shared Cabin 1, IDR 3,800,000 per person. A shared cabin with bunk beds and a wooden ladder, windows on two sides and blue carpet. The bathroom is inside the cabin, shared by the people in this cabin. Shared Cabin 2, IDR 3,550,000 per person. The cheapest option, bunks on both sides under a white ceiling with small windows. The bathroom is outside and shared. If a bathroom inside your cabin matters, Shared Cabin 1 costs only IDR 250,000 more than the cheapest. That is usually the safest pick for solo travellers.

What about meals and facilities?

Meals during the trip are included, along with an afternoon snack, coffee, tea and mineral water. Snorkelling gear, canoes, a local guide and the harbour pick-up are included as well. Not included: flights, hotels in Labuan Bajo, alcohol, crew tips, travel insurance, the Komodo National Park entrance ticket, and the ranger fee paid on site. You can pay the park ticket at checkout, so there is no need to carry much cash.

Where does the route go?

On day one you board at KP3 Harbour, hike up Kelor Island, snorkel at Manjarite, then wait for thousands of flying foxes to leave the Kalong Island mangroves at dusk. Day two starts early on Padar Island, then Pink Beach, a Komodo dragon trek with a ranger, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. On day three the boat heads back to Labuan Bajo, arriving around 11 to 12 noon. The order can change with the weather, and that is the captain's call for safety.

Can I charter the whole boat?

Yes. Ladyana also runs private trips for up to 14 people. Send your dates and group size on WhatsApp and our team will send the exact price.

How do I book?
