Your two free transfers and how to combine them
On an open trip, transfers are free for two rides. Pick the combination that fits your flights:
- Airport to hotel, then hotel to airport. Best if you land in Labuan Bajo the day before the trip.
- Hotel to the meeting point, then the meeting point to the airport. Best if you fly out as soon as the boat docks on the last day.
If you need more than two rides, for example airport to hotel, hotel to the port and then port to airport, the third ride is an extra that you can book on the Labuan Bajo airport transfer page.
The meeting point at KP3 Port
Most 3 day 2 night open trips leave from and return to KP3 Port in Labuan Bajo. It is the main meeting point, so this is where your trip starts and ends.
Guests usually board around 10 in the morning on day one, and on day three the boat docks at the same port around 11 to 12 noon, as the Akassa boat page states. That docking time is set so guests on an afternoon or evening flight home do not have to rush to the airport.
Coverage differs from boat to boat
Even though transfers are free, the pickup area is not the same on every boat. Some boats only collect from hotels in central Labuan Bajo, some also collect from the airport, and some limit pickups to a set distance from the port.
For rides beyond your free allowance, the rate is per car per direction (not per person) and depends on your hotel's zone, as listed on the airport transfer page:

Pickup times come by WhatsApp, in a group or directly
The field crew sets the exact pickup time so the rounds run smoothly, and shares it the day before departure. How they reach you depends on the boat. Some set up a WhatsApp group for everyone on the trip, and plenty message each guest one by one.
Keep the WhatsApp number you booked with switched on. If you plan to land in Labuan Bajo on the morning of departure, tell the operator well in advance so your airport pickup can be timed around the boat's schedule.
Day trips and getting there yourself
If you are on a one day trip by speedboat, pickup is much earlier. With everything packed into one day, you are usually collected at dawn, which is very different from the gentler morning of a 3 day 2 night open trip.
What if your hotel is outside the pickup area? You can make your own way to the meeting point at KP3 Port. Aim to arrive before boarding, which the Akassa boat page puts at around 10 in the morning. If you cannot find where your boat is moored, contact the crew member who messaged you the day before.
